Hot on the heels of the soulful and sax-filled “New York City Nights” single earlier this month, the ever-versatile Scandroid is back with a brand new single that reveals more of the artist’s dark side. From the upcoming third album, The Darkness and the Light, “Red Planet” is a gritty cybersynth track that transports listeners through time and space for a gripping adventure in Scandroid’s unmistakable musical universe. Check out the premiere of “Red Planet” in the video below:
This darker take on Scandroid’s sound is a logical step for Klayton–the prolific creator behind the project–as he’s maintained a strong focus on science fiction in his synthwave releases, often touching on themes of horror and suspense. “Red Planet” takes these ideas to the next level with a somber atmosphere packed with cosmic synth tones and a host of detailed, world-building effects held together and propelled by the tense, persistent rhythm. It promises good things for the full album.
