A little bit about electronic music

According to the original concept, the main goal and principle of electronic music was to create sounds solely by means of electricity, to technically transform them, to find a new form of expression, and finally to mechanically implement it in a way that excludes the performer. The creators of Elektronische Musik “wanted nothing to do with electronic music, which is limited to those musical instruments that are played in the usual way and which imitate the traditional sound world by means of electronics. A true electronic music has very different objectives from substituting the sound of orchestral instruments and imitating traditional sounds.

Electronic music is music that uses electronic musical instruments and technology. Electronic music consists of sounds that are produced using electronic technology and electromechanical musical instruments. Examples of electromechanical musical instruments include the Tellarmonium, the Hammond organ, and the electric guitar. Pure electronic sound is produced by using instruments such as the termenwax, synthesizer, and computer.

The trend continues to this day, with modern nightclubs around the world regularly performing electronic dance music (EDM). Today, electronic dance music has radio stations, Web sites and publications such as Mixmag devoted exclusively to the genre. Moreover, the genre has gained commercial and cultural importance in the United States and North America thanks to the extremely popular big room house / EDM sound that has been incorporated into American pop music and the growth of large-scale commercial raves such as Electric Daisy Carnival, Tomorrowland (festival) and Ultra Music Festival.
